We got tired
of the can.
ZENSCEND started in a garage in Austin because a 250 mg energy drink is a bad answer to a small question: how do I focus for the next hour?
Our founder spent eleven years as a paramedic working nights, which is a job that teaches you exactly how much caffeine is too much.
The pattern was always the same. Two hours into a shift, a can. An hour after that, jittery hands and a heart rate that made taking someone else’s pulse feel absurd. Then the drop, right when the calls got hard. The problem was never the caffeine. It was the dose, the delivery, and the twenty-five minutes of nothing while you waited for it to work.
Caffeine gum was not a new idea — the military has issued it for years. But every version we could buy tasted like a chalk tablet and told you nothing useful about what was in it. So we spent two years and an embarrassing number of failed batches on two things: a mint shell that gives way to a real chew, and a label that states every active amount in milligrams.
Forty milligrams of caffeine — half a coffee. Eighty milligrams of L-theanine to take the edge off it. Five calories. One tin that fits in the pocket of a pair of scrubs. That is the whole product, and we have no plans to complicate it.
We are still small. The founder still answers a fair share of the support email. If something is wrong with your order, you will hear back from someone who can actually fix it.

What we will not do.
Every active ingredient is printed in milligrams on the front. No proprietary blends.
One product, one dose. We would rather you chew less and keep coming back.
It is caffeine and L-theanine in a gum. It works well. It is not a nootropic miracle.
Try one tin.
If it does nothing for you, we refund it. That is a genuinely easy promise to make when the product works.
